I now just use tweezers to fix the micro switch after a few years. I’ve been using Logitech mice for over 25 years and they all broke the same way, but Microsoft mice and other brands do too. Lol mouse click issues on Logitech mice are not a current gen thing. I still exclusively buy Logitech for mice and keyboards though since I like what they offer and their support has never failed me since the first defect I had with one of their products about 17 years ago. It's more an issue of misleading advertising since these switches are clearly overrated if I can kill them in less than 1/3 of their advertised life span. I mean how many people will actually "click" the left mouse button 14,000 times per day, every single day for 2 years to hit their rated 10 million clicks right before the end of the warranty?īut anyways, I now keep my defective G305 specifically for these sorts of game/uses (since they let me keep it), gave my friend the replacement and use my G604 for fps and normal use where double clicks actually annoy and disrupt what I am doing, hopefully I won't have any more issues using this "method".Įdit: This isn't to crap on Logitech since as someone stated below many manufacturers probably use the same switches. So no it's not typical forum BS, I assume it just depends how close you get to even 25% of their rated clicks to actually see a double click issue. I would assume it depends on how you use it, I do have some games I have played over the years where you have to click the crap out of the left mouse button since it's 1 click per attack.īut at the same time there's no way in hell I am surpassing the rated 10 million clicks when I play maybe 3 times per week and they all fail within 2 years, but I am sure I am still doing more than the average consumer.īut even then, let's say I did a crazy 5000 clicks per day every single day of the year without fail, that's still under 2 million clicks per year, the fact that I have had 3 fail within a 4 year period all WELL under a maximum theoretical 4 million clicks proves there is at least some sort of quality control issue. I've been using a G502 no problem for yearsĮven if it's outside warranty it's trival to replace those switches yourself with level 0 electronics skill if you really wanted toĪctually I've replaced 3 logitech mice in the last 4 years through warranty claims from double clicking. While I'm no Logitech apologist, if they ever finally make an optical switch mouse, I'll be all over it.The amount of people who have no issues using this mouse are never going to post about it vice the 3 people who have had issues

Now I am waiting for my Kone Pro RMA, so I switched to my Roccat Kain - and it's double clicking already. My Roccat Kone XTD also double clicked and got RMA'd.Įventually I binged on Total Annihilation last year and drove my Kone Pure to double clicking as well, but it was out of warranty. I switched to Roccat after RMA'ing 3 logitech G7's for double clicking. The only other thing I don't like is that it doesn't have a dedicated DPI switch. Logitech lets you keep the original product.Īside from that, the Kone Pro is really great, amazing ergonomics, amazing experience overall. A mouse with a wonky scroll wheel is still useful.

To add insult to injury, Roccat requires you to cut the cable with scissors and send them a photo of the product.

Normally I would open it and clean it, but I don't want to open an under-warranty product.) (Edit: This issue was reported by numerous people on Reddit.) I suspect this is because of the ultra-lightweight design - the scroll wheel has hollow sides, so dust can get inside really easily. The scroll wheel failed, and started scrolling in random directions. I have the Kone Pro and it's already going for RMA after less than 4 months. That one is wired right? Looks interesting though.
